Can the harp be played on the beach?
CoastalHarp has two types of harps.  A 35 string folk harp which can be played on the sand of a beach, and a concert harp which can be played just about anywhere except the beach.

When will the Harpist arrive to my event?
Typically, 30 minutes prior to the time to begin playing. This  allows adequate time for setup & to discuss music cues with the event coordinator.

Will the Harpist need to attend my rehearsal?
Attendance at rehearsal is not usually necessary.
If we are coordinating with another musician that you have chosen, (i.e., a family/friend who sings or plays an instrument) we require at least two months prior notice, a sample video of musician playing/singing your requested music and one hour prior to the event for combined rehearsal of the requested music. If you require the harp at the rehearsal, there will be an additional $150 charge.

Can I request a special song, not listed on the website?
Arrangements can be made to have new music learned if requested at least two months prior to event.

How far in advance will you need my music selections?
Knowing your selections as soon as possible is best but if music is selected from the repertoire list, no later than three days before your event.  If you have a special song request that is not listed on the website, the request needs to be made at least two months prior to event.

Will the harpist need processional cues?
For your procession to run as smoothly as possible, it is important that a family member, friend or event manager be available to provide the harpist with a cue when the first member of the procession is ready to begin walking down the aisle.  This person should be dependable, not a party to the procession and will need to be available to discuss the cue sometime before the prelude music is to begin.

My ceremony is only going to last 20 or 30 minutes.  What is the minimum amount of time I can book?
Most wedding ceremonies typically only last 20-30 minutes.  The minimum time we require per booking; however, is one hour.  This allows time to play prelude music as your guests are being seated, your ceremony and your postlude music.

What happens if it rains, or is unusually hot or cold?
Because of the nature of the harp, it cannot be exposed to extreme weather.  If there is any precipitation (even light) you will need to provide adequate covering or a "Plan B".  An address/phone number for "Plan B' must be listed on the contract.

In what event would the Harpist cancel?
In the event of a serious accident/illness, hospitalization, or other act of God the harpist may be forced to cancel on the day of your wedding.  Even then, we are in contact with other harpists & musicians and would do our best to find a substitute.
